Communities across the nation have discovered that they must work at the watershed level to solve their diverse water resource problems. They have also found that no matter what watershed they are working in, the same eight basic management tools are needed to mitigate the impacts of development: watershed planning, land conservation, aquatic buffers, better site design, erosion control, stormwater treatment practices, control of non-stormwater discharges, and watershed stewardship.
Cill Ide Native Plant Nursery is pleased to present a workshop on watershed planning. The focus of the workshop will be to discuss the eight tools watershed planning developed by the Center for Wateshed Protection. This discussion will culminate with a specific focus on better site design and practical stormwater management design approaches. We will address BMP’s, wetland, streams and buffers as part of our watershed planning tool box.
This class is intended to address why we focus on watersheds and what practical steps we can take to achieve our specific goals. Most of the curriculum has been developed by the Center for Watershed Protection, a nationally recognized leader in watershed education.
This workshop is ideal for planners, engineers, architects, educators, students and anyone who is interested in watershed issues.
