This class is a blended elearning experience. The classroom will be your computer and your schedule. The field work will be in Raleigh, NC or the NJ School of Conservation
This one-day course will cover the basics of wetland plant identification in the Piedmont. Some of the most commonly encountered wetland plants will be identified in the field, including various species of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, grasses, sedges and rushes. The course will also cover the use of plant identification keys for hard-to-identify plants, and cover concepts such as the Wetland Plant Indicator Status of various species, morphological adaptations of wetland plants, and characteristics of the wetland-upland community interface.
This is a free class and an example of our NEW eTraining format. The class presents a forum for discussion about the Clean Water Act (CWA) guidance to implement the U.S. Supreme Court Decision for the Rapanos and Carabell Cases. It is an interactive class with project examples, videos and links to more information about the recent Supreme Court Decision. There is no charge for the class and we welcome your participation!
This is our traditional wetlands delineation class. We will discuss the current and proposed USACOE wetlands delineation methods as well as the recent Rapanos decision. This class is 38 instructional hours and meets the training requirements for several State wetland certification programs.

Our week long adventure includes our wetland delineation class. It is taught in a historic training lodge and field camp. You will be able to learn all of the skills necessary to perform wetland delineations in an ideal and remote setting.
This class is a complete presentation of the methods and calculations necessary to properly plan for wetland hydrology. A water budget will be established to enable students to understand how water circulates though a wetland. upon completion of the class students will be able to prepare a water budget and properly size a proposed wetland system.
